Childcare Guidelines

Guidelines for Groups Scheduling Child Care
  1. Child care will be provided for the following groups affiliated with the church: Bible Studies (small group), Choir practices, Church Council, Disciple classes, New Member class, Teacher/Volunteer training, SPPRC, Trustees, and Team Ministries. Child care will also be provided for church fund raising events (for example: bazaars, auctions, or concert(s). Other groups may be added to this list at the discretion of the Director of Early Childhood Ministries.

  2. All groups needing child care must be listed on the church calendar. Requests for child care should be scheduled as far in advance as possible with at least a one week notice. For scheduling purposes, it is preferable to have between two to four weeks notice to secure child care. In the event that a meeting is cancelled, please contact the Director of Early Childhood Ministries at the email address listed below.

  3. Child care will only be provided for scheduled events to ensure that the proper teacher/student ratio is met. Drop-in child care is not provided.

  4. All child care must follow the guidelines set forth in the Child Care Handbook, “Policies for the Prevention of Child Abuse”, “Sick Child Policy”, and the “Discipline Policy”. Most notably, this includes enforcement of the two child care provider policy at all times at events with children.

  5. Important information to have available at the time child care is requested includes: 1) purpose of meeting, 2) date(s) of the event, 3) meeting start and ending dates/times, 4) name, email address, and phone number of main contact for the group, and 5) the approximate number of children expected to need care.

  6. Of the monies budgeted for the Early Childhood Ministries Team, child care expenses account for approximately ¾ of the total expenses allotted for the ministry. To ensure fiscal responsibility, child care will only be provided for church activities/meetings having more than two children or for more than one family needing care.

  7. All child care will conclude at 8:45 p.m. unless special arrangements have been made with the Director of Early Childhood Ministries.
